YPP and the East & North Kalimantan PERDAMI Hold the Cataract Surgery Social Service Program in Kutai Kertanegara

YPP Indosiar SCTV held a mass cataract surgery social service event at Dayaku Raja Regional Hospital, Bangun City, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. This event was held in collaboration between the East & North Kalimantan PERDAMI and Dayaku Raja Regional Hospital, Bangun City. The event aimed to treat 60 eyes on December 11 – 12, 2021. The surgeries were carried out by implementing health protocols and antigen tests during initial screening. The eye surgery itself was performed using the SICS technique which is superior to Phacco and ECCE, allowing all levels of cataracts to be treated. The Director of of the hospital expressed his gratitude for the collaboration between YPP and PERDAMI considering that it has been two years since the Bangun City area has held cataract surgery activities. In fact, the pandemic has caused the number of cataract sufferers to increase.
