PUNDI AMAL PEDULI KASIH FOUNDATION

Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) stands as evidence of Elang Mahkota Teknologi (EMTEK) Group’s commitment toward social welfare and humanitarianism, underscoring the group’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. YPP’s origins can be traced back to the social and CSR sectors of different business units under EMTEK Group, namely Pundi Amal SCTV and Peduli Kasih Indosiar. This led to the establishment of Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation in November 11, 2015 based on Notarial Deed No. 38, in Jakarta and received approval from the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, with Decree Number AHU-0023500.AH.01.04.Year 2015.

In its development, the existence and initiatives of YPP's social and humanitarian endeavors are integral to synergizing and collaborating with the business endeavors of other EMTEK Group entities operating within digital platforms, such as digital markets, online payments, digital media outlets, and beyond. This aligns with the scope of  Elang Mahkota Teknologi, which has rapidly developed into a modern and integrated group, comprising three primary business divisions: Media, Telecommunications and IT Solutions, and Connectivity.

YPP’s existence also serves as a means of encouraging stakeholders under EMTEK Group to be conscious of present social and humanitarian issues. Unlike its precedents, YPP’s outreach touches beyond SCTV and Indosiar viewers, including readers of Liputan 6.com, Vidio subscribers, Bukalapak users, and more.

Nevertheless, the scope of YPP's social and humanitarian activities remains within the corridor of its founding deed which consists of four realms:

Humanitarian Aid:

  • Organizing various programs and disaster relief initiatives such as emergency response management, post-emergency response management, prevention, mitigation, and preparation for disasters of any kind that result in large-scale damages and/or incapacitation of societal networks.

THE ORIGIN OF PUNDI AMAL PEDULI KASIH FOUNDATION

  • Pundi Amal SCTV

Founded in the year 2000, Pundi Amal SCTV is SCTV management's response to viewer concerns towards the less privileged, as well as communities affected by natural disasters. Utilizing SCTV's advantages as a television station with national broadcasting coverage, SCTV's Pundi Amal is a form of corporate social responsibility that encourages the community to help each other. SCTV's Pundi Amal focuses on four activities: disaster relief, education, healthcare, as well as the environment and community.

Healthcare was one of Pundi Amal SCTV’s prime concerns with the highest levels of activity among all sectors, having served a total of 248,987 citizens. As for Education, from 2006 to 2008, Pundi Amal SCTV played a role in building, rehabilitating, and developing a number of nurseries, along with providing training to 223 nursery-level educators using the PAUD Semai Benih Bangsa method. In 2013, together with the Obor Berkat Indonesia Foundation (OBI), Pundi Amal SCTV built a Job Training Institute in Nias covering an area of 60 meters and provided it with necessary equipment such as laptops and printers. In the same year, Pundi Amal SCTV rehabilitated the construction of the Ar Ranairi dormitory in Banda Aceh, which, after the 2004 Tsunami, had been built by Pundi Amal SCTV.

Continuing on to Pundi Amal SCTV’s activities in Disaster Relief, the foundation had been dispatched countless times in various prominent catastrophes across Indonesia, such as the Tsunami in Aceh, as well as the eruptions of Mount Merapi and Mount Sinabung. Pundi Amal SCTV managed emergency response efforts such as meal provisions and healthcare services extending to the rehabilitation phase.

  • 2006 Earthquake in Yogyakarta – distributed 27,820 food packages and family kits to 37 evacuation points.

  • Tsunami in Aceh – Pundi Amal SCTV offered scholarships to Syah Kuala University students affected by the disaster, constructed a number of meunasah-s (a multifunctional building used for religious ceremonies, religious lessons, community gatherings, and more), schools, mosques, and rehabilitation of the Ar Ranairi dormitory.

  • 2010 Eruption of Mt. Merapi – humanitarian aid toward 36,991 victims and 115 refugee families through provision of food packages, medication, masks, etc. Following the disaster, relief efforts include providing cow sheds for 500 residents to support economic recovery, along with reforestation initiatives on the slopes of Mt. Merapi.

Within the realm of Environment, Pundi Amal SCTV collaborated with numerous parties to carry out the “Green and Sustainable Merapi” program by planting 60 thousand productive and consumptive plant seeds on the deciduous slopes of Mt. Merapi. In East Java, together with the Indonesian Navy, Pundi Amal SCTV planted 2000 mangrove trees to help prevent sea water abrasion on the coast of Sidoarjo, East Java.

  • Indosiar Peduli

Since its inception, Indosiar has embraced the business principle of "seeking more than just profit" through prioritizing the interests of society. This was realized through the Indosiar Peduli Program, namely the Kita Peduli fundraiser in 2000 aimed at helping Bengkulu residents affected by the earthquake, and Peduli Kasih in 2001 that advocated for sufferers of a congenital heart condition.

It was through these two events that Indosiar Peduli's work continued to be realized, with Peduli Kasih focusing on two types of medical assistance: mass treatment for patients requiring swift and basic medical services, as well as focused treatments for patients requiring intensive medical care.

As of October 2016, the total number of patients who managed to receive medical assistance from Peduli Kasih amounted to 119,693 patients. Peduli Kasih then expanded its activities to the environmental and educational sectors, such as building toilets, distributing clean water, providing scholarships, assigning qualified teaching staff to remote places, providing counseling, and so on.

As a result of Kita Peduli’s efforts and outreach, various aid from viewers and companies were distributed directly to disaster-stricken areas, both during and after the disaster. The total number of patients Kita Peduli had helped since it was first established is 14,280 patients, thus totaling to 133,973 patients assisted by Indosiar Peduli from 2000 to 2016.
