Free Cataract Surgery in Selayar Island, South Sulawesi

Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) SCTV Indosiar, Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, and Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association (PERDAMI) held a Cataract Surgery Social Service at KH. Hayyung Hospital, Selayar Islands Regency, on 9-10 September 2024.

This activity was supported by 15 medical teams from PERDAMI South Sulawesi. Cataract surgery participants came from several islands in the Selayar Islands. From this social activity, 53 cataract patients were successfully operated on.

Drs Supomo. MM, as Director General of Social Rehabilitation, who was present to review the cataract surgery social service, said that the social service carried out by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in several districts / cities was based on data analysis of areas that really needed to be carried out immediately.
