Free Cataract Surgery in Cirebon, West Java

Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) SCTV Indosiar in collaboration with the Cataract Blindness Management Unit of Central Management (SPBK PP) PERDAMI, organized a Free Cataract Surgery Social Service at Pasar Minggu Hospital, Palimanan, Cirebon, West Java on September 14-15, 2024.

This activity was supported by 13 ophthalmologists and medical personnel. A total of 138 cataract patients were successfully operated on. The patients came from Cirebon, Majalengka, Indramayu, Tegal and Brebes regencies.

This cataract surgery social service is very beneficial for the people of Cirebon and surrounding areas because the high number of cataract sufferers, but are hindered by the high cost of surgery which results in many people not being able to perform surgery independently.
