Free Cataract Surgeries in West Sumatra

SCTV Indosiar's Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation(YPP) in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, the Cataract Blindness Management Section of the Perdami Central Management (SPBK PP) and the Dharmasraya Regency Government held a Cataract Surgery Social Service in commemoration of the 27th National Elderly Day at Sungai Dareh District Hospital , Dharmasraya, West Sumatra, May 27 – 29, 2023.

PERDAMI deployed more than 10 ophthalmologists in support of the Cataract Surgery Social Service in Dharmasraya Regency. A total of 216 cataract patients were successfully operated on in this activity.

Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Ir. Hj. Tri Rismaharini, M.T., Chief Executive of YPP, Abas Yahya, and the Regent of Dharmasraya, Sutan Riska Tuanku Kingdom, SE supervised the cataract surgeries and kept the patients company with conversations.
