Indonesia is home to 34.9 million people living with visual impairment, ranking third globally after India and China. Approximately 3% of the Indonesian population suffers from blindness, with 81.2% of cases caused by cataracts. However, 90% of these visual impairment cases are preventable and treatable.
YPP Emtek Media is committed to supporting the government in combating cataract blindness in Indonesia through charity cataract surgery initiatives organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association (Perdami). As of 2026, YPP has provided support for cataract surgeries benefiting more than 10,000 eyes.
During the World Sight Day 2026 commemoration hosted by Perdami at a hotel in South Jakarta on October 24, 2026, YPP received an award for its dedicated support and active participation in mass cataract surgery programs. The award was accepted directly by the GM of CSR at SCM and Executive Chairman of YPP, Mrs. Dewi Yudho Miranti.
