YPP SCTV Indosiar Distributes Hundreds of Cloth Masks in Three Markets in Jakarta and Tangerang

Emtek Peduli Corona YPP SCTV Indosiar and Bukalapak distributed 200 masks in several locations in Jakarta on March 5, 2021. These masks were distributed at Benhil Market, Lembang Ciledug Market, and Ciputat Market, where the YPP team found people, both buyers, visitors, and sellers, not wearing masks. Various reasons why they did not wear masks were conveyed by the residents to the YPP Team. On that occasion, the YPP Team led by Chief Executive, Abas Yahya, explained the importance of wearing masks as part of efforts to prevent wider transmission of the COVID 19 virus. The residents who attended were found to have already understood the importance of wearing masks, but were not disciplined in wearing them for various reasons.

For residents who came with their children, the YPP Team also provided souvenirs in the form of drinking bottles or other souvenirs. The masks distributed by YPP are cloth masks that can be washed and re-worn. To be effective, the mask can also be inserted with tissue on the inside, to prevent transmission of the virus through droplets.
