YPP Rehabilitates Sumberjaya State Elementary School Building Affected by the 2018 Sunda Strait Tsunami Disaster

Following the Sunda Strait Tsunami disaster in December 2018, part of the Sumberjaya State Elementary School building in Pandeglang was damaged. 

In order to help, YPP inaugurated the rehabilitation of Sumberjaya State Elementary School 1 on Friday, January 8, 2021. Along with the inauguration and handover ceremony, the YPP Team, represented by the Chief Executives of YPP, Abas Yahya and Petrus Dananjoyo, provided prayer room facilities for the school, gifting them: 

  • 5 rolls of prayer mats (6m)
  • 20 pieces of Mukenah
  • 18 pieces of sarong
  • Volleyball court and 20 volleyballs
  • 2 nets and 2 pumps
  • 600 pieces of cloth masks

Sumberjaya State Elementary School 1 has 573 students and 20 teachers. The event was attended by the Principal of Sumberjaya State Elementary School 1, Rohman Sutisna SS; Head of Sumur Sub-District, Heru; Head of Sumberjaya Village, Siti; and a number of other invited guests.

YPP also carried out mangrove planting activities, rehabilitation of fishing boats, and free medical treatments in an effort to help overcome the impact of the disaster.
