The 12-meter long bridge with a width of 2.5 meters can finally be used by residents of two villages, Banjarsari Village and Cipondok Village in Sukaresik, Tasikmalaya, West Java. Coinciding with the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day, the General Manager of Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation, Abas Yahya, accompanied by the Sukaresik District’s Council Conference and witnessed by residents of the two villages, cut the ribbon as a sign that the bridge could officially be used by the public.
This bridge is an important facility, as it serves as an access point for residents of both villages in their day-to-day activities. In addition, the bridge relieves heavy traffic on the Ciawi road connecting the village to Tasikmalaya City by providing an alternative path for travelers through the villages and this very bridge.
Along with the inauguration, Abas Yahya also distributed 1000 cloth masks to the residents and a couple of souvenirs for five outstanding students. Funding for the rehabilitation of the wooden bridge came from SCTV and Indosiar viewers’ donations to YPP.
