YPP Collaborates with the East Java PERDAMI, Air Force, and Alor Regency Government to Hold Free Cataract Surgeries in Alor, NTT

SCTV Indosiar's Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) supported the Cataract Surgery Social Service program organized by the East Java Branch of PERDAMI at Kalabahi Hospital, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara on September 29, 2022. The program was also done in collaboration with the Indonesian Air Force and the Alor Regency Government.

YPP supported the cost of cataract surgery for 50 eyes. Perdami East Java mobilized 5 ophthalmologists and 6 assistant surgeons to perform surgery on the cataract patients.

Cornelia Siratuka, a resident of Kalabahi Kota Village, Teluk Mutiara Sub-District, Alor Regency, was one of the patients who has undergone surgery. Due to economic limitations, Cornelia avoided going through with a cataract surgery, as the surgery can only happen in Kupang, far from her home. However, she now does not have to travel so far because of the Cataract Surgery Social Service program. Overjoyed, she cannot wait for the chance to regain her vision once more.
