YPP, AO Care, PERDAMI West Java, and the Health Department of Sumedang Regional Government Hold Cataract Surgeries

Around 50 cataract patients underwent free cataract surgery organized by YPP in collaboration with Alpha Omega Care (AOC), Cicendo Eye Hospital, and PERDAMI West Java in an event supported by the Health Department of Sumedang Regional Government. Activities were carried out at the Cataract Center Building, Jl. Prince Kornel No 118, Pesangrahan Baru, Sumedang. All activities were carried out in compliance with health protocols to prevent transmission of the Covid 19 virus. Prospective patients were required to undergo a rapid test during initial screening, wear masks, maintain distance, wash their hands, and so on.

More than 150 people showed interest and registered for the surgery, but in light of the COVID 19 pandemic, surgical patients were limited to a maximum of 50 people, all of whom were successfully treated. The surgeries took place from 08.00 am to noon by the medical team from Cicendo Eye Hospital, led by Dr Mayang Rini, SpM (K), MSc with a team of 11 people. Sumedang Regent, DR. H Doni Ahmad Munir, ST MM and his entourage came to observe the progress of this cataract operation. The Regent, expressed his gratitude and welcomed the synergy between YPP SCTV Indosiar and AO Care that have supported the Health Department of the Sumedang Regional Government in the Free Cataract Surgery program. The program was also done to welcome National Health Day for community members, especially those in Sumedang.
