The distribution of aid continues in efforts to ease the suffering of refugees affected by Mount Semeru's blazing smoke. On December 12, 2021, SCTV Indosiar's Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) Foundation, in collaboration with Karya Alpha Omega Foundation (AO Care), provided free health services for refugees in Gunung Gending Hamlet, Penanggal Village and Krajan Hamlet, Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency. We provided these services to 44 patients who had taken refuge in some residents' homes. Most complained of hypertension and acute respiratory infections.
One of the residents who took refuge in Sumberwuluh Village was Imam Syafii, Rumini's husband, and their young son, Zaki Pratama. Rumini’s body was found by the rescue team with her arms wrapped around her mother, protecting her instead of running for her life.
Apart from handing over food packages to Imam Syafii, the YPP Team also conducted health examinations on him and his son.
