General Medicine, Blankets and T-shirts for Flood & Landslide Victims in Pacitan

December 7-8, 2017, Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs held a social service in Pacitan Regency. YPAPK together with the Pacitan District Health Office Medical Team provided health services at Tremas Islamic Boarding School, Arjosari sub-district and Al Anwar Village Islamic Boarding School, Ploso village, Pacitan sub-district. The majority of patients were flood-affected residents in Pacitan district who needed treatment.

A total of 202 patients were treated with various illnesses, including high blood pressure, stomach acid, itching, flu, fever, etc. In addition to health services, YPAPK also provided 100 blankets and 100 t-shirts directly to several evacuation centers, including Klegok Hamlet, Piton Village, Punung District; Ketro Hamlet, Sirnoboyo Village, Pacitan District; Gembong and Kedungbendo Villages, Arjosari District.

Blankets were provided so that the residents would not be cold and t-shirts as a change of clothes while in the evacuation site. The evacuees were very grateful for the assistance provided. Like Mbah Jumatun (67 years old), a resident of Banyu Anget Hamlet, Village. Kedung Bendo, Arjosari sub-district, said in Javanese that he fled because his house was hit by floods and landslides. He hopes that the government will build a permanent bridge so that he and other residents can make a living. He was very grateful for the assistance of blankets and t-shirts so that he would not be cold and get a change of clothes while in the evacuation camp. The blankets and t-shirts were transported to Banyu Anget Hamlet, Kedungbendo Village on motorcycles by local volunteers over a steep and slippery suspension bridge.
