Mass Cataract Operation to Celebrate the 53rd Health Day at Ahmad Wardi Eye Hospital, Serang Banten

To commemorate the 53rd Health Day, YPAPK in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa held a mass cataract surgery for the poor in the area around Serang, Banten. The operation, which took place from 09:00 to 14:00, went smoothly at Ahmad Wardi Eye Hospital, an eye hospital owned by Dompet Dhuafa and the Indonesian Waqf Board.

A total of 21 out of 35 patients who had been screened were successfully operated on by the Dompet Dhuafa medical team and regained their vision. While patients who failed surgery, mostly due to medical reasons, such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels and so on.

It is hoped that this activity can benefit the community around Serang, improve their standard of living and return to being independent after regaining their vision.
