July 29 is one of the historic days for the Indonesian Air Force, because on July 29, 1947, three Air Force pilots were killed when the Dutch shot down a Dakota VTCLA aircraft that was conducting a humanitarian flight mission carrying medicines donated by the Malacca Red Cross for the Indonesian Red Cross.
To commemorate this event, at Graha Antariksa of Husein Sastranegara Air Force Base on July 26, 2017, the Bandung Air Force Bakorda in collaboration with YPAPK under the auspices of SCTV and Indosiar held a Mass Medical Treatment in the form of general, dental and circumcision treatment in Cicendo and Andir Sub-districts of Bandung City.
This activity was opened by Danlanud Husein Sastranegara Colonel Pnb M. Iman Handojo, S.Ikom, representing Dankoharmatau as Chairman of Bakorda Bandung.
Doctors from the Indonesian Air Force and the Obor Berkat Indonesia Foundation were deployed in the Mass Treatment and managed to treat 657 general patients, 62 dental patients and 50 circumcision patients.
It is hoped that this humanitarian activity can facilitate people who need medical assistance.
