Environmental Health Counseling at Bethel Elementary School, Tanjung Priok

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, students of SD Bethel, Tanjung Priok, received another Environmental Health counseling which was divided into 2 sessions. The first session was for grades 1, 2, and 3, and the second session was for grades 4, 5, and 6. This counseling was a follow-up to the material that had been given previously on September 20, 2017. The students were given material on the importance of environmental health, sources of disease in the environment, the adverse effects of a dirty environment, distinguishing between organic and non-organic waste, and how to keep the environment clean.

After the counseling, in addition to a post-test to find out how much material the children could absorb, the children were also given games that were still about Environmental Health to strengthen their understanding. In addition to reading books and watching educational films prepared on the WELI (Mobile Education Vehicle) car, children were also given toothbrushes and picture books to conclude the counseling activities at Bethel Elementary School.

It is hoped that the counseling organized by YPAPK and OBI can strengthen the lessons taught by the teachers, broaden the children's knowledge and instill early awareness of the importance of Environmental Health for the progress and welfare of a nation.
