Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) SCTV Indosiar organized Barista Training for People with Disabilities, for 6 days, from July 14-18 and 21, 2025 at Indosiar Cafeteria, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta. The training was attended by 15 people with hearing disabilities under the guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. The participants learned many things from the trainer, Danu Setyo Nugroho, including the History and Types of Coffee, Processing Method, Knowing Grinder, Manual Brew, Espresso Based, Roasting, Cold Baverage and Making Contemporary Coffee. On the 6th day of training, the participants practiced selling coffee drinks, chocolates and snacks for IDR 10,000 at the IMDE Campus Lobby. The sales were well attended by EMTEK Group employees and residents.
The Barista Training is expected to improve the quality of life and provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities in the field of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). After attending the Barista Training, the participants are expected to be able to produce quality coffee drinks. In addition to Barista Training, YPP SCTV Indosiar also provided business capital assistance to 15 participants, in the form of ingredients and equipment for making coffee.
After participating in the training, it is hoped that the participants will be able to sell their coffee drinks or work in a café. YPP SCTV Indosiar collaborates with KAI Services and ONNI House to provide opportunities for participants to work in several positions available at cafes owned by KAI and ONNI House.
