Touched by the story of Grandpa Tahir (90 years old) and Grandma Nuru (80 years old) about their poor condition, who wear a cloth belt as a hunger barrier, Liputan6.com raised funds through kitabisa.com to help the elderly couple.
The elderly couple from Laroonaha Village, Ohoe Sub-district, North Konawe District met Liputan6.com when Grandma Nuru was hospitalized after being scalded by hot water and fainting over hot coals. Tahir, who works as a coconut climber, wants to own a goat so that he can earn his own income in his old age.
Initially, Grandpa Tahir and Grandma Nuru lived in a small hut in Poni-poniki village, Motui sub-district, Konawe district, but because the land was borrowed, the family moved them to Laroonaha village to be better monitored.
Witnessed by their relatives and the local residents, the donation was handed over by YPP in collaboration with Liputan6.com SCTV-Indosiar. Assistance in the form of a type 36 residential house with a bathroom (furniture, cupboards, beds, kitchen equipment), a kiosk containing several types of basic necessities and snacks, and two pregnant female goats, complete with cages were handed over directly to Grandfather Tahir and Grandmother Nuru.
Grandpa Tahir is very grateful for the community's concern for him, and is determined not to sell it.
